Design Principles (colour)
LO:explore and evaluate the use of colour in graphic design.
A tint is a colour mixed together with white and a shade s a colour mixed together with black.
Primary - a group of colours that all other colours can be made from, the 3 primary colours are blue, yellow and red.
Secondary - the colour that you get if you mix 2 primary colours.Mono - where there is only one colour but i can be different shades or tints.
Complimentary - where 2 colours are opposite to each other on the colour wheel.
Triad - 3 colours evenly spaced out on the colour wheel.Tetrad - a special variant of the dual colour scheme with the equal distance between all 4 colours.
Analogic - any group of colours that are close to each other on the colour wheel.
Accented analogic - a group of colours next to each other on the colour wheel and the one directly opposite.
Blue - strength
Yellow - warmth
Green - growth
Orange - confidence
Purple - wise
Silver - hope
Apple have used the bright colours in this advert to show energy and liveliness, the pink means love, the yellow means warmth, the green means growth and the purple means wise.
